The Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center was established through the extraordinary vision of Irene Diamond. Mrs. Diamond was deeply affected by the toll the HIV/AIDS epidemic had taken in New York City, and understood that more scientific research was urgently needed. ADARC opened in 1991, and since then, its scientists have been at the forefront of many discoveries that have changed the HIV/AIDS landscape. ADARC continues to fulfill Mrs. Diamond’s vision by working relentlessly to find solutions that we hope will someday end the epidemic.
